Days Before His Death, Larry Fine Broke Silence About Curly Howard

Alongside Moe Howard and Curly Howard, Larry Fine, best known as the wild-haired member of The Three Stooges, entertained audiences with their humor for decades. They cemented their position in Hollywood history by making their slapstick humor famous. Behind the humor, however, the Stooges’ tale was full of both victories and setbacks, especially in relation to Curly, whose health issues ended his career.

Larry Fine thought a lot about his time with Curly in his last days. Those close to him said he talked about their fraternal connection with unusual candor. In addition to being a talented comic, Larry characterized Curly as a nice and compassionate person whose private struggles were frequently kept out of the spotlight. He said that one of the most agonizing periods of his life was watching Curly deteriorate due to illnesses and strokes.

Larry disclosed that Curly genuinely lived to make others smile and that his comedy was never a performance. Curly had an unrivaled capacity to lighten the mood, even at the worst moments. Larry said that the Three Stooges were forever changed by his departure and that losing him was like losing family. His statements demonstrated how much Curly meant to him and were laced with both admiration and sadness.

These concluding thoughts brought to light a reality that fans never noticed: a strong bond based on love and loyalty existed behind the eye-pokes and pratfalls. In addition to being a farewell, Larry’s homage to Curly served as a reminder that their humor sprang from true friendship rather than merely acting.
