“Falcon Crest” and ‘Star Trek’ Actress Jill Jacobson Dies at 70

Actress Jill Jacobson, best known for her roles in Falcon Crest and Star Trek: The Next Generation, passed away on December 8 in Los Angeles at 70 after battling esophageal cancer. Known for her charisma and sharp comedic timing, Jacobson had a prolific career spanning TV hits like Quantum Leap, Who’s the Boss?, and Days of Our Lives. Her family and manager described her as a vibrant, soulful performer who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.

A Texas native and University of Texas graduate, Jacobson began her career in the 1977 horror film Nurse Sherri before moving into television. From 1985 to 1987, she played Erin Jones on 22 episodes of CBS’s Falcon Crest, a soap opera about a feuding California family. She later starred as Larue Wilson on The New Gidget and made memorable guest appearances on numerous iconic series.

Jacobson publicly shared her cancer battle in September, reflecting on its challenges and her gratitude for life. Despite her illness, she remained optimistic, saying, “I want to help people.” She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and fans.
