The film begins with a seemingly ideal marriage, a lovely suburban house, a devoted couple, and an almost faultless existence. However, fissures start to appear behind closed doors. The wife begins planning an escape that takes a surprising and sinister turn as she becomes more and more dissatisfied and feels confined.
Tensions build up one fatal night, and in a terrifying sequence that establishes the tone for the remainder of the movie, she “unalives” her husband. She finds the process both scary and somehow freeing as she starts to live her life without the man who used to dictate every action for her.
The true twist, however, occurs later on when she unexpectedly finds solace in her closest buddy. What starts off as emotional support soon turns into something more, making it difficult to distinguish between betrayal, desire, and mourning. Their relationship and the lingering effects of her crime combine to create a tale that is both unsettling and memorable.
As the movie builds to its devastating conclusion, audiences are forced to consider morality, loyalty, and the depths of human desire. It’s a terrifying examination of desire, guilt, and the sinister repercussions of making prohibited decisions, not merely a murder story.
