The Huge Blooper in Forrest Gump That Nobody Noticed Until Now

One of the most adored movies ever made, Forrest Gump is a masterwork of cinema that combines comedy, emotion, and history as seen through the eyes of its iconic lead actor, Tom Hanks. Fans are still finding secret aspects in the movie even after thirty years have passed, including one unexpected blooper that has recently come to light.

Forrest is shown getting a letter from Apple Computer, Inc. during one of the film’s several flashbacks. The date on the letter is September 23, 1975, which is a minor but intriguing mistake because Apple wasn’t formally founded until 1976. Although it’s a little historical error, astute viewers didn’t realize it until years later when they rewatched the movie in high resolution.

Naturally, the legacy of the movie is unaffected by this minor error. One of the most cited and rewatched films in history, Forrest Gump went on to win six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Fans like learning new information like this, not to pass judgment but to further appreciate the film’s nuance and skill.

In the end, this “blooper” is only another factor contributing to viewers’ fascination with Forrest Gump even after several decades. It is one of the genuine masterpieces of film because each time you see it again, you discover something new.
