Forever Young Souls

Where is Judge Judy Now? (2026)

After the long-running courtroom series Judge Judy concluded in 2021, Judy Sheindlin did not retire. Rather, she carried on with her career in media and television, starting new initiatives and being involved in the legal entertainment industry. Even in her 80s, she is continuously involved in designing and hosting shows relating to the court system.

Sheindlin launched Judy Justice, a new streaming court show, following the conclusion of Judge Judy’s 25-season run. With a different structure and cast, the 2021 premiere of the program carried on her approach of settling real-life small-claims disputes. She continued to have a significant impact on courtroom television as it gained popularity online and even earned a Daytime Emmy Award.

She has also branched out into other programming genres in recent years. Sheindlin debuted Justice on Trial, a true-crime legal series, on streaming services in 2025. The program uses reenactments, transcripts, and professional commentary to revisit well-known historical trials and investigate whether justice was done.

Judge Judy still produces television shows and makes appearances in the media, although she now resides mostly in Greenwich, Connecticut, with her husband Jerry Sheindlin. Despite leaving regular syndicated TV, she continues to be one of the most powerful characters in courtroom entertainment and one of the highest-paid celebrities in television history.
